Named ‘Australia’s Best New Children’s Activity’ by ‘What’s On 4 Little Ones Australia’ in June 2012, Little Kickers offers an outdoor soccer training program called Mega Kickers for kids aged 5 to 7 years.
The successful Little Kickers franchise started in the UK and has been the leading brand on the Gold Coast for over two years in soccer training for kids.
Mega Kickers combines a series of activities that use imaginative play, familiar games, visual skill and creative participation to engage the interest of the child. The Mega Kickers philosophy is divided into three core areas:
Play: the greatest tool for development and learning is self-initiated play, which leads to excited and vigorous participation and to rapid improvement.
Practice: activities with lots of turns and touches facilitate greater growth. Simply put, the more you do it, the better you get!
Understanding: within Mega Kickers classes, our coaches focus not only on teaching children how to perform a skill, but also to start building an understanding of why the skill is needed.
Two coaches run each session and every child wears a Little Kickers’ uniform with their name and chosen number on the back.
Little Kickers Gold Coast director Abbey Madden said the goal of Little Kickers is to use soccer as a fun forum to help instil extra confidence, coordination, control and a sense of camaraderie.
“Our motto is ‘play not push’ so we create a pressure-free, supportive environment for the children to develop their skills,” said Mrs Madden.
For children aged 18 months to 5 years, Little Kickers offers three different levels of indoor classes called Little Kicks (18 to 27 months), Junior Kickers (2 to 3½ years), and Mighty Kickers (3½ to 5 years)
