NAIDOC Week Celebrations

NAIDOC celebrations are held around Australia each July to recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Each year, a different focus city hosts the NAIDOC Awards ceremony and ball, and this year it’s the Gold Coast’s turn!

While the awards ceremony is sold out, there are plenty of free events for all ages and cultures, including boomerang and didgeridoo demonstrations, bush tucker tastings and traditional performances.

NAIDOC week runs from the 6th through 13th of July, and the theme this year is Serving Country: Centenary & Beyond, honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women who have fought in defence of country.
