My 3 year old, Olivia loves to play ‘shopping’ and my husband and I have spent many hours at a little cash register. I wanted to create a printable that was fun with a small element of learning that would appeal to Olivia.
I decided on an ice-cream shop and designed up a logo, some ice-creams, and gold coins. I printed and cut the pieces and set up our shop flat on the table. I requested my number of scoops and Olivia counted out the scoops and added sprinkles then I counted my coins, 2 coins per scoop! Olivia loved the game.
For older children this is also a great time to practice their scissors skills.
There are many ways you can set up the shop. Here we stuck the pieces to plastic cups.
This option we stuck the pieces to pegs which you can place on anything, like a cardboard box or cups like I have.
Once Olivia was bored with the game I gave her glue and white paper and she was happy to create more permanent ice-creams!
