Frascott Park, Varsity Lakes

This park is a bit of a hidden treasure.  Residents that live locally may not even know that this park exists.

There is something for everyone to do at this park including the dogs with a fenced area for some exercise and fun play.

There is plenty of space to have a picnic lunch or barbeque and the playground will keep the kids amused and the track around the path is great if mum and dad want to go for a walk or run to keep fit.  A bit of exercise after lunch always feels good.

Near the shaded main playground there are two separate picnic areas.  The main play area has slides, swings, climbing structure, merry go round, disc swing, spring rockers, bridges and heaps more equipment to explore.  Both of these areas have barbecues.  One is next to a gazebo and the other is under a big shelter.  There is a drinking fountain and toilet amenities close by.  Wheelie bins are also provided for your convenience so please place all rubbish in these before you leave.

There is a mini playground, which is not under shelter, closer to the off leash dog area and also a drinking fountain.  This playground has a slide, swings and a couple of spring rockers.

There is a fenced off leash dog area with agility exercise equipment and a gazebo.  Maybe the kids could teach their pet dog a few tricks in this enclosed area.

There is a path around the entire park which would be approximately 800m long, perfect for walking the dog, riding your bike, rollerblading or running.  There are fitness stations spread out around the whole track so who needs a gym at home….

There is an open playing field (approximately the size of two school ovals) with soccer posts at one end and a full size basketball court.  This is a great area for kicking a ball or maybe even a friendly game of cricket with family and friends.

Although the address is Frascott Avenue there are actually four entrances to this park.  The main entrance which leads you to the carpark is off Mattocks Road, however this car park is on the opposite side to the main playground.  The place to park if you wish to be closest to the main playground would be off of Yodelay Street where there is only street parking.  The other two entries to the park are via alleyways off Frascott Avenue and Woollahra Court.
