Hollindale Park, Main Beach

This playground can be found at the southern end of Hollindale Park, just next to the Main Beach Pavillion and Southport Surf Life Saving Club.

The playground, even though quite small, has some very interesting climbing apparatus, a slide, some rocking animals and a couple of swings.  There is sand underfoot to make it soft under little one’s feet and any falls they may have.

There is also plenty or grass around the play area to kick a footy or have some races with  brothers, sisters or friends and lots of trees to provide some shade from the sun.  A drinking fountain is provided for those hot, thirsty times after play.  An amenity block is located close by which houses showers and toilets for your convenience.

There are several picnic tables nearby including one under shelter.  There is also a bbq situated right next to the play area and one down closer to the road.

The concrete walking track located between the beach and the play space and park is great for a walk after your barbecue lunch or picnic.  You may even want to go for a walk along the beach or a quick dip in the ocean to cool off.  Access to the beach is conveniently located at the top of the playground just over the path.

If bringing a barbecue lunch or picnic is not your thing, the surf club is approximately 200 metres south of the park overlooking the beach.  Why not stop at the historical Main Beach Pavillion for an ice-cream and head to beach near the lifeguard tower and people watch.  You may even see a whale migrating if it’s the right time of year.
