Lex Bell Park Surfers Paradise

Again being collectively grouped as Surfers Paradise,  Lex Bell Park (and Oval) is on the Isle of Capri. It also happens to be home to the Surfers Paradise Soccer Club.

Arguably, it has not just one, but two of the best playground set ups around.  Its sure to tick all the items on any parents’ wish list.  Undercover, sand underfoot, and both areas are completely fenced off.

The first playground is situated on the North-Western corner of the oval.  Its designed is based similar to an army jungle gym for kids, including a spinning balance roll, flying fox, and lots of challenging climbs and platforms.  In addition to this, swings, two slides and a see-saw complete the play area.  It offers hours of fund and entertainment, not to mention developing muscle strength and co-ordination skills.  Alongside the playground is a mini-hill.  Kids will be tempted to race each other up and down, and parents could perhaps choose this as a great vantage point to keep an eye on them whilst they play.

The other playground is actually located on the opposite corner of the field – on the South Eastern side.  It’s a little smaller, but contains four swings, a groovy curly slide – and also a rocking saw to entertain the children.  It’s covered by a shade sail, and again has the soft sand for the little ones to enjoy.

Of course, being an oval – children of any age may be tempted to bring along sporting equipment and take advantage of the free space to work on cricket swing or just kick the footy around amongst friends.

Lax Bell Oval is not really set up for barbeques, but there are picnics tables available should you wish to bring your own lunch and enjoy the beautiful parklands. There are also toilets available.
