Palm Beach Parklands & Treasure Island Playground

4

This playground would have to be one of the best on the Gold Coast and with the main attraction being a pirate ship complete with lookout, treasure map and suspension bridge, it will keep your children entertained for hours.

The sand based play area is designed to get your kid’s imagination flowing  with buried treasure, timber boat, animal rockers, barrel swings, climbing net, lots of hidey holes, walk the plank (beam close to the ground), barrel tunnels and cannons.  Let your child dream of sailing the high seas, ARRGGHH!!!

The pirate ship is semi shaded and partly fenced on the carpark side.  There are quite a few carparks but this area does get very busy so parking tends to spill out onto the Gold Coast Highway.  Care must be taken if doing this.

Why not bring a picnic lunch or a steak to throw on the bbq and enjoy a few hours watching your kids kick a football in the park adjacent to the playground.  There are a few shaded picnic tables as well as lots of seating around Treasure Island Playground.  Or you may prefer to grab a coffee or something to eat from Dune Café on the opposite side of the parklands about 100 metres away.  This bright and cheery café has seating inside as well as outside and stakes have been provided to tether your pet.

The still water beach is great for the littlies to have a splash and build sandcastles or you can take a short walk across the field and over the dunes to the surf beach.  Remember to bring sunscreen, water, a hat and wear a rashie to keep protected from the sun.  There are good amenities provided including toilets, change rooms and showers if you need to freshen up before heading off on your next adventure.

If you live close to this park, why not ride your bike and stop for a play.  Leave your bike in the racks provided and then you can continue along the pathway and over the timber bridge up to the beach.

You can bring your dogs too but they will need to be taken to the off leash dog area on the opposite side of the still water beach and on the surf beach if you are wanting them to run free.

Tarrabora Reserve is found to the right of this park where you can camp, have a small fire, play golf and ride your motorbike.  There are also toilet amenities, shaded and open picnic tables for your family to enjoy.

This is a great family park with something for everyone to enjoy from active little ones or for those that want to have a lazy afternoon.  It is a must do for your Gold Coast Kids.

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I
found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never
wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I
    had to tell someone!
