The Daisy Hill Koala Centre is situated within the Koala Bushland Coordinated Conservation Area consisting of Daisy Hill Conservation Park, Venman Bushland National Park, Neville Lawrie Reserve, Don and Christine Burnett Conservation Area and Ford Road Conservation Area.
At the Koala Centre, there are four koalas for you view up close, learn about their environment including their life cycle and diet through displays, films and interactive computer games. You are also able to climb the viewing tower to see how many koalas you can spot.
The Centre also runs ranger led programs during the school holidays and koala focused education programs for schools and groups.
The picnic areas located in the Daisy Hill Conservation Park and Venman Bushland National Park are well equipped with plenty of picnic tables, wood fires (wood provided) and toilet amenities. There are some sheltered picnic table areas, which can be booked but these are very popular so you would need to get in early to secure one of these. Bookings can be made by calling 137 468. The park has plenty of space to kick a ball, play games or for the kids to run around. Even on a busy day, there would be enough space for everyone.
There are eight parking locations spaced around the ring road of the Conservation Park. These do fill up quickly but there is an overflow carpark at the entrance of the park.
If you like to bushwalk, then there are plenty of trails for you to choose from. They have been graded as Class 2 – Easy and suitable for all levels of fitness and Class 3 – Gently sloping, caution is needed on loose surface and natural outlooks, reasonable level of fitness and ankle supporting footwear is required. There is wheelchair access on one of the trails. The walks range in length from 450m to 9klm.
You must NOT feed any of the animals found within these Conservation Parks and you are responsible for taking all personal rubbish with you when you leave.
This is a great park for families including children of all ages to enjoy both on the weekend and during the week.
The Daisy Hill Koala Centre is open daily from 10am to 4pm.
